As a child, every morning and evening we would walk 8 to 10km to and from to fetch water. It was not always what I wanted to do, but we found our way through the garden and bushes.

The journey gave me something unexpected: a vocabulary of smell. The smell of freshly cut grass, dried wood logs, decomposing leaves, moss and fertile loamy cultivated soil.

Just before we got there, the stream announced itself: noisy, cold, fresh, earthy and birds singing. The smell of arrival which brought a sense of warmth and relief.

STREAMBOUND holds that journey in a bottle and allows those who have never walked that path with me, to feel what it was to arrive.
